This is an unprecedented time in history. The COVID-19 pandemic is having an impact on the health of our loved ones, the health of the global economy, and the way we live our daily lives. As we continue to navigate through these unique and evolving challenges, we want you to know that IIN is here for you. We are working together with University of British Colombia and health workers in our local community, to ensure that Deaf young people and their communities keep extremely high personal hygiene, they practice social distancing, wear face masks and gloves as well as have enough food and supplies to sustain themselves and their families. We are also ensuring that these groups have information they need about the pandemic. Found here on our Youtube Channel

As we address a pandemic that will no doubt become a chapter in the history books, our commitment to serving our community will not waver. Many organisations today are stepping up to help, because no organisations can do it alone; we’re calling on companies across the financial ecosystem, food/ agricultural system, individuals to come together to help to help the most vulnerable during this crisis. We all need to support our employees and look for ways to help our communities navigate these waters.

It is during times like these that courage, generosity and resilience make a difference. Please consider donating to our COVID-19 Response activities on our Donate Page.

This is a challenging and uncertain time for our staff. In light of the outbreak and spread of COVID-19, we have had to temporarily close our Offices in Kampala and Masaka. The whole IIN team is working from home and remains available during regular working hours.
